ACLS and PALS Renewal Policy
Students may take the ACLS Renewal or PALS Renewal courses even if their current provider card has been lost or expired. However, if you are unable to present a current course completion card, you will not be given the option for "remediation".
This means you must pass the skills testing and written exam on the first attempt. If you do not, you will be required to return to complete the full provider course (as outlined in the AHA Program Administration Manual, page 51).
Basic Life Support Renewal Policy
For BLS courses, the renewal course is the same as the initial course. There is no separate course specifically for renewal students.
CEU Eligibility (Continuing Education Units)
- The ACLS Full Course and PALS Full Course qualify for CEUs under the Massachusetts Board of Nursing.
- BLS courses, ACLS Renewals, and PALS Renewals do NOT qualify for CEUs.
- For other licensing boards, please contact the board directly to confirm if the class you are taking at CPR World qualifies for CEUs.
Receiving Your Course Completion Card
Students will receive an email from the AHA within 24 hours of completing their course. Upon receipt of the email, you can log onto the AHA website to retrieve your eCard.
In rare cases, there may be an unforeseen delay. If you do not receive your confirmation email within 24 hours, please contact us, and we will investigate the issue for you.
Please note, emails will only be sent if the ACLS or PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment has been completed and provided to CPR World.
BLS and ACLS
BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS are two separate classes with two separate course completion cards.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers covers several important concepts that ACLS does not, such as pediatric/infant emergencies and choking.
- ACLS certification does not include BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
Renewing ACLS & BLS On The Same Day
Some ACLS & PALS Renewal courses offer a "BLS add-on" option, allowing you to renew your BLS for Healthcare Providers certification on the same day as your ACLS Renewal course.
- The BLS add-on costs $125 and lasts approximately two hours, held directly after the ACLS Renewal course.
- This option is available only for ACLS Renewal classes marked with a (*) on our Schedule & Sign-up page.
ACLS and PALS 2-Day Class Policy
All 2-day classes (ACLS or PALS) are scheduled for two consecutive days. If you are unable to attend Day 2 on the scheduled date, you may attend Day 2 of another week’s class, provided you contact us in advance to make this request.
- You must attend Day 2 within 60 days of attending Day 1.
Leaving Classes Early / Coming Late
Please ensure you sign up for a class only if you are able to arrive at the scheduled start time and stay until the approximate end time posted on the Sign-up page.
- The required practical skills test and written exam are administered at the end of each course, so students may not leave early.
- Late students may be admitted at the discretion of CPR World.

Liability Statement
Our courses may involve physical exertion, the potential for cross-infection, and emotional stress. If your physician has recommended avoiding strenuous activity or limiting your physical activity in any way, please be aware that CPR involves significant physical effort—both in practicing on the manikin and performing CPR on a cardiac arrest victim.
If you have a medical or cardiac history that could be aggravated by performing CPR, we recommend consulting your physician before participating in the course.
Additionally, if you have concerns about being able to perform CPR on a cardiac arrest victim, please consider this before enrolling in the course. If you have recently had any type of infectious disease, such as an upper respiratory infection or open sores on your mouth or hands, it may be best to defer manikin practice until you have fully recovered.
We appreciate your understanding of these issues and encourage you to use good judgment in deciding whether to participate.
Audio/Video
When you enter the CPR World classroom, please be aware that photography, audio, and video recording may take place. These recordings are used to continually improve the delivery of educational material from instructors to students, and to ensure the validity of the content being taught.
Please note that any videos recorded will only be viewed by CPR World employees.
